Strain descriptionC57BL/6J-Tg(NRG1B1-TF5) mouse strain. Neuregulin-1 (NRG-1) is a neurotrophic factor that is known to regulate the development of various tissues and/or the life/death of cells through activation of the ErbB family receptor tyrosine kinases, and implicated as a potential susceptibility gene for schizophrenia. This strain is useful for investigating the function of the of NRG-1 gene.
Colony maintenanceBackcross to C57BL/6 (Hemizygote x C57BL/6JJcl)
References
Protein processing and releases of neuregulin-1 are regulated in an activity-dependent manner.
