Strain description | This transgenic mouse shows the expression of the fusion protein to fuse GFP at the C terminus of full-length mouse desmoglein 3 (Dsg3), at the stratified squamous epithelium under the control of human K5 promoter. Desmoglein (Dsg) is a cadhelin type adhesive molecule to express in the desmosome of stratified squamous epithelium. It is also known as a self antigen of the pemphigus vulgaris which is one of a autoimmune bullous disease. This mouse is useful for the study of the cell adhesion function of the desmosome and pathology of autoimmune bullous disease. |
