Strain development | Developed by Seiji Takashima, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine in 1998. CGR8 ES cells were used. |
Strain description | Neuropilin 2 gene knockout mice. Exon1 and part of the downstream intron including ATG was replaced with a lacZ-neo cassette. Neuropilin 2 expression was successfully stained with lacZ in various tissue using heterozygous mice. Homozygous mutant mice have vascular and neuronal abnormality and die in uterus or just after birth. |
Colony maintenance | Hetero mice are healthy and fertile. No specific care is needed. Homo mouse is dead in uterus or soon after birth. |
References | Targeting of both mouse neuropilin-1 and neuropilin-2 genes severely impairs developmental yolk sac and embryonic angiogenesis.
