Strain developmentDeveloped by Seiji Takashima, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine in 1998. CGR8 ES cells were used.
Strain descriptionNeuropilin 2 gene knockout mice. Exon1 and part of the downstream intron including ATG was replaced with a lacZ-neo cassette. Neuropilin 2 expression was successfully stained with lacZ in various tissue using heterozygous mice. Homozygous mutant mice have vascular and neuronal abnormality and die in uterus or just after birth.
Colony maintenanceHetero mice are healthy and fertile. No specific care is needed. Homo mouse is dead in uterus or soon after birth.
