Strain descriptionThis transgenic mice carry a hsp68-lacZ gene under control of a 0.8-kb region upstream of Nodal coding sequences (-9.5 and -8.7 kb) containing the node-specific enhancer (NDE). X-gal staining around the node can be detected in embryos at early somite stages.
Colony maintenanceCarrier x Noncarrier or Crossing to Jcl:B6C3F1Tg mice are viable and fertile.
