BRC No.RBRC02189
TypeTransgeneCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameC57BL/6Cr-Tg(Pcdh21-cre)BYoko
Former Common namePcdh21-nCre, C57BL/6
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strainC57BL/6NCrSlc
Appearanceblack [a/a B/B C/C]
Strain developmentDeveloped by Dr. Mineto Yokoi Kyoto University Guraduate School of Medicine nin 2004.
Strain descriptionThis transgenic mice express the cre recombinase gene under the control of the Pcdh21 gene promoter. This can be used to make an conditional knock-out by crossing with the other genetically-engineered mice that have floxed genes. The expression of cre recombinase was observed in the mitral/tufted cells that are projection neurons in the olfactory bulb.
Colony maintenanceBackcross to C57BL/6 (Hemizygote x C57BL/6CrSlc)
