ES Cell line | D3 [129S2/SvPas] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Masato Ikawa, Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University in 1995. D3 ES cells derived from 129S2/SvPas were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6. |
Strain description | Clgn, calmegin gene knockout mice. A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into the exon 2 of the Clgn gene. Homozygous mutant males were infertile. |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote X Wild-type [C57BL/6NCrSlc] |
References | The putative chaperone calmegin is required for sperm fertility. Ikawa M, Wada I, Kominami K, Watanabe D, Toshimori K, Nishimune Y, Okabe M Nature, 387, 607-611 (1997) 9177349 |
