ES Cell lineTT2 [(C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1]
Background strainC57BL/6NCrSlc
Appearanceblack [a/a B/B C/C]
Strain developmentDeveloped by Drs. Sudo and Fujisawa, Nagoya University in 2001. Mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6Cr for 14 times.
Strain descriptionB6.Cg-Plxna4<tm1Hfu>. Plexin-A4 serves as a direct receptor for two class 6 transmembrane semaphorins, Sema6A and Sema6B, both of which act as repellents for sympathetic ganglion (SG) axons. Plexin-A4 homozygous mutant mice show defective in the trajectory and projection of peripheral sensory axons and GS axons and the formation of the anterior commissure and the barrels.
Colony maintenanceBackcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6CrSlc)
References
Plexin-a4 mediates axon-repulsive activities of both secreted and transmembrane semaphorins and plays roles in nerve fiber guidance.
