Strain development | Developed by Dr. Shinya Yamanaka at Nara Institute of Science and Technology in 2003. A beta-geo cassette was inserted into the exon 3 through 7. The mutant mice were backcross to C57BL/6J for several times. |
Strain description | Fbxo15, F-box protein 15 is a novel target of undifferentiated-cell-specific transcripton factor Oct3/4 playing essential roles in self-renewal of ES cells and mouse early development. Fbxo15 is predominantly expressed in mouse undiffereniated ES cells. Inactivation of Oct3/4 in ES cells lead to rapid disappearance of Fbxo15 expression. Homozygous mutant mice develop normally and are fertile. |
