Strain descriptionThis congenic strain was established by the integration of a MSY-derived genomic region from chromosome 11 into a C3H/HeNCrj genetic background. The integrated genomic region involves a QTL, Nidd1n, for glucose tolerance, which was identified using genetic mapping in the NSY strain (a mouse model for type 2 diabetes) and C3H as a control. This congenic strain (Nidd1nR1) was produced by backcrossing of the region between D11Mit74 to D11Mit229 of NSY onto the C3H.
