Former Common name | TUBG2 knockout mouse |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | J1 [129S4/SvJae] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Drs. Akiko Yuba-Kubo and Shioichiro Tsukita at Kyoto University in 2001. A Pgk-neo cassette was inserted to replace exon 5 og Tobg2 gene. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 6 generation. |
Strain description | γ-tubulin play a central role in the nucleaton of microtubules. Tubg2 is a γ-tubulin isoforms and primarily detected in the brain. Tubg2 homozyous deficient mice are viable, but sometimes become sterile with age by impared motor function. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6JJcl) |
