TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameICR.Cg-Grm1<tm1.1(GFP)>/Rrbc
Former Common namemGluR1 KO
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineTT2 [(C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Drs. Tatsumi Hirata and Yumiko Saga in National Institute of Genetics at 2005. PGK-neo flanked by loxP sites linked to a EGFP gene was inserted into the second exon of Grm1 gene of TT2 ES cells. The expression of the EGFP was unknown. Pgk-neo casette was removed.
Strain descriptionGrm1 (glutamate receptor, metabotropic 1) is a member of a large family of G-protein-coupled glutamate receptor that is important for normal synapse formation, synaptic plasticity, and motor control in the cerebellum. Mice deficient in mGluR1 have severe phenotype in motor coordination.
Colony maintenanceSibling Mating (Heterozygote x Wild-type, Heterozygote)Homozygous mutant mice show severe phenotype in motor coordination in 10-14 days old.
