Strain development | Developed by Drs. Tatsumi Hirata and Yumiko Saga in National Institute of Genetics at 2005. PGK-neo flanked by loxP sites linked to a EGFP gene was inserted into the second exon of Grm1 gene of TT2 ES cells. The expression of the EGFP was not detected. |
Strain description | Grm1 (glutamate receptor, metabotropic 1) is a member of a large family of G-protein-coupled glutamate receptor that is a key form normal synapse formation, synaptic plasticity, and motor control in the cerebellum. Mice deficient in mGluR1 have severe motor coordination. Homozygous mutant mice show severe motor coordination in 10-14 days old. |
Colony maintenance | Cross to ICR (Heterozygote x Slc:ICR) |
