Former Common name | Olig2-CreER knock in mouse |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | TT2 [(C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | black [a/a B/B C/C] |
Strain development | Developed by Dr. Hirohide Takebayashi at Kyoto Universtiy in 2002. A cassette containing neo and tamoxifen-inducible cre genes was inserted into the exon 2 encoding the basic helix-loop-helix domain. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6N. |
Strain description | B6.Cg-Olig2<tm1(cre/Esr1)Htak>. These knock-in mice have a tamoxifen-inducible cre (cre-ER<TM>) at the Olig2 locus. Cre-ER<TM> is expressed in motoneuron and oligodendrocyte progenitors. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6NCrj)Homozygous mutant mice die postnatally. |
