| Former Common name | ngn3/Cre transgenic mouse, ngn3/Cre Tg#24 |
| H-2 Haplotype | |
| ES Cell line | |
| Background strain | C57BL/6NCrSlc |
| Appearance | black [a/a B/B C/C] |
| Strain development | Developed by Shosei Yoshida, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University in 2001. The ngn3-Cre transgene containing a 23-kb genomic region of the mouse ngn3 locus and cre recombinase gene was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F1 fertilized eggs. The transgenic mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6. |
| Strain description | These transgenic mice express a cre recombinase gene under the control of the mouse Neurogenin 3 gene promoter. This can be used to make an conditional knock-out by crossing with the other genetically-engineered mice that have floxed genes. The expression of cre recombinase was observed in positive spermatogonia, pancreatic/enteric endocrine precursors. |
| Colony maintenance | Carrier x Noncarrier [C57BL/6NCrSlc]. Tg mice are viable and fertile. |
