BRC No.RBRC01356
TypeTransgeneCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameC57BL/6-Tg(grm6-lacZ)35Kyo
Former Common nameZF35
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Shigetada Nakanishi, Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F1 fertilized eggs. C57BL/6 semicongenic.
Strain descriptionmGluR6 (glutamate receptor, metabotropic 6) gene is suggested to be responsible for ON responses in both the rod and cone systems. The transgene is mGluR6 gene fused to the beta-galactosidase reporter gene. This strain is useful for investigating the promoter function of the cell-specific and developmentally regulated expression of mGluR6.
Colony maintenanceCarrier x Carrier [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl]
