|Strain development||Developed by Hans R. Shoeler University of Pennsylvania and Yasuhisa Mastui, Research Institute Oasaka Medical Center of Maternal and Child Health in 1997. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F1 fertilized eggs. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 3 times (RBRC00868 and RBRC01198). Backcrossed 129 for 7 time (RBRC01198) (by Atsuo Ogura, RIKEN BioResrouce center).|
|Strain description||Oct-4(Pou5f1)/EGFP transgenic mice carrying EGFP cDNA under the control of the 18kb Oct-4 genomic fragment (Genomic Oct-4 Fragment of 18) (Dev Growth Differ 1999). Oct-4 gene expresses in undifferenciated spermatogonia at prepubertal stages. This strain is useful to detect primordial germ cells with green fluorescence protein by the PGC-specific promoter. Tg line including the proximal enhancer (PE) of GOF18 (RBRC00868), Tg line lacking the proximal enhancer (PE) (RBRC00869 and RBRC01198).|
