Strain developmentDeveloped by Drs. Masami Fujita and Neal Copeland, National Cancer Institute in 1997. Donor strain is 129S3/SvlmJ via JR2448 ES cell line. This strain was maintained in C57BL/6J and 129S3/SvlmJ mixed background.
Strain descriptionB6;129S3-Meis1<tm1Ngc>. Meis1 deficient mice exhibit abnormal retina, vasculature, hematopoietic system defects. Homozygous mutant mice die by embryonic day 14.5.
Colony maintenanceLitter size is a little small. Embryonic lethality (Homozygous). Genotyping by PCR.
