| Strain description | Transgenic mice expressing Cre recombinase in a central region of the developing retina and widely in the ventral forebrain. Useful for tissue-specific gene activation/inactivation approaches. In particular, consequences of gene activation/inactivation in Cre-expressing cells within the retina can be assessed in direct comparisons to the surrounding non-Cre-expressing cells in an animal.
