Strain description | RBP-J, recombining binding protein suppressor of hairless (Drosophila) which is a transcriptional factor of a Notch/RBP-J signaling pathway play a role in fate determination in various lineages. RBP-J homozygous mutant mice show severe growth retardation at 8.5 days of gestation, incomplete turning of the body axis, microencephaly, abnormal placental development, anterior neuropore opening and defective somitogenesis at 9.5 days of gestation, and die before 10.5 days of gestation. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6CrSlc) |
References | Disruption of the mouse RBP-J kappa gene results in early embryonic death. Oka C, Nakano T, Wakeham A, de la Pompa J L, Mori C, Sakai T, Okazaki S, Kawaichi M, Shiota K, Mak T W, Honjo T Development, 121, 3291-3301 (1995). 7588063 |
