Strain developmentDeveloped by Chang-Woo Song and Jae-Woo Cho, Korea Institute of Toxicology in Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology. Mutant mice were crossed to BALB/c.
Strain descriptionHomozygous mutant mice resemble hairless rhino mice in which no hair regeneration occurs and skin tissue is extensively folded. A mutation in the human homolog of Hr (HR; OMIM602302) , are known to cause congenital hairless disease, alopecia universalis congenita (OMIM602302). The Depositors are welcome to collaborate further detailed analyses on this mutant mouse. Series of other ENU-mutant mice with interesting phenotypes have also been deposited to RIKEN BRC.
Colony maintenanceHeterozygote (male) x Homozygote (female) Homozygous mutant females have nurturing young, possibly as a result of defects in lactation.

Specific Term and ConditionsThe RECIPIENT of BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall obtain a prior written consent on use of it from the DEPOSITOR. In publishing the research results to be obtained by use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, an acknowledgment to the DEPOSITOR is requested. Prior to filing for a patent, or intellectual property or other rights based on results of research using the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, the RECIPIENT shall acquire the consent from the DEPOSITOR for such application. Use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall be limited to a collaborative research. And Use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall require co-authorship of the DEPOSITOR for TWO years after deposition of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE to the RIKEN BRC or for the first publication if no publication is made within the TWO years.
